Rooted in Rights co-hosted Seattle City Council candidate forums in May of 2019, ensuring that the events were both accessible and included disability issues on the agenda, and we have produced captioned, transcribed videos of these forums as voter resources. Rooted in Rights has also successfully centered disability in local streets and transportation reform in coalition with traditional transit and environmental organizations who have not previously included disability in their work. This work has garnered significant media coverage throughout the region, and Rooted in Rights was invited to present this work at the BC Active Transportation Summit.
