Social Security beneficiaries need more protections, and you can help us provide them!

Social Security beneficiaries routinely have their money stolen by their representative payees. These payees are appointed to manage their benefits but too often abuse their power. People from across the country (over 25,000!) have turned to our “How to Change, Remove, or Report a Representative Payee” publication for help.

A bill (H.R. 4547) has been drafted to make sure representative payees handle beneficiary’s money correctly. With the bill’s passage, funds would allow us to meet with Social Security beneficiaries and review the financial records of payees. H.R. 4547 will bring much-needed reform to the representative payee program.
