DRW and a coalition of advocates are urging the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) to reconsider the proposed amendments to the DDA Medicaid waivers. Thousands of DDA clients rely on waiver services to live in the community, but DRW and other advocates believe the proposed changes could be harmful to many waiver participants. DDA is proposing to eliminate Positive Behavior Support and Consultation (PBSC) and replace with other services that are not equivalent in scope or amount to the current PBSC benefit. DDA is also proposing a new funding cap on certain services on the CIIBS waiver, which could result in drastic service reductions for some CIIBS waiver participants.
