DRW receives national award for work with advocates
The National Disability Rights Network bestowed its honored TASC award to DRW for innovative support of self-advocacy efforts.
The award was presented by Board of Directors President Michael Bailey, of Oregon, and Curtis Decker, executive director of the National Disability Rights Network, during it's annual conference in Baltimore in June 2012. There to accept the award was Joelle Brouner, reknowned advocate, with DRW staff David Carlson and Andrea Kadlec.
NDRN cited the website Disability Rights Galaxy, and showed clips from the budget video and the Ashley's Rights videos that DRW put together, and thanked DRW for continuously finding creative ways to incorporate the voice of people with disabilities in all of DRW's work.
