The Senate Law and Justice Committee will hear SB 5465, a bill creating an independent corrections ombuds office in Washington, on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 10 am. DRW, along with a diverse group of other stakeholders, will be in Olympia to testify at the hearing. This is our first chance to demonstrate the broad coalition behind this bill and we would like to encourage as many people as possible to attend the hearing to show their support. The hearing starts at 10 am and will be held in Senate Hearing Room 4 in the J.A. Cherberg Building, in Olympia. More details about the hearing can be found on the Washington State Legislature website.  A PDF of the map of the Washington State Legislative campus is available here.

If you cannot attend the hearing in person, you can always contact committee members and let them know that you support the bill. Visit the Senate Law And Justice Committee page on the Washington State Legislature website for a list of committee members and their contact information.
