State gets $4 million to help kids with emotional disabilities
Washington state was one of twelve recently awarded a four-year, $4 million grant to provide mental health and recovery support for kids with emotional disabilities.
The System of Care Expansion and Implementation Grant, managed by the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, is designed to increase cross-system collaboration and coordination of services that are "family driven, youth-guided and community-based."
The grant is timely for the implementation of the interim settlement agreement, negotiated with the state. More information is found in the Kids' Mental Health litigation project.
