6. Right to religious exercise

A patient may attend religious services on the ward. Civil patients may be able to attend services off the ward, depending on his or her level and grounds privilege status. However, a forensic patient may not leave the hospital grounds for religious services unless he or she has a conditional release. A patient has the right to receive visits from a priest, rabbi, minister, or other religious person of his or her choice. A patient also has the right to treatment by spiritual means through prayer.
