1. Right to be free from abuse, neglect and harassment

A patient has the right to receive care in a safe environment and be free from all forms of abuse, neglect and harassment. Hospital employees are mandatory reporters, which means they must file a report with Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) any time there is reasonable cause to believe that a patient has been abused or neglected.
